Civic Trees have recently completed the supply & planting of 1 London Plane 100/120cm girth in Central London. The shear size of the tree with a 4-6 M spread & 11M + in height caused considerable logistical headaches.
Luckily Civic Trees with a 50 year track record in making the impossible happen, came to the Clients aid. The headache started with the use of an 80 ton crane to lift the tree into the planted position. A crane this size meant a road closure & parking bay suspension had to be put in place to accept the crane & the extended trailer carrying the enormous tree. Civic Trees bespoke underground guying system was used to secure the 2.5M rootball firmly in place.
The tree now takes pride of place in the clients front garden & is completely in keeping with the London Plane trees that line the roads outside the house.
Ken Sneddon, Civic Trees Operations Manager commented 'It was a tense day making sure the tree, the road closure, parking suspension, trailer coming from Holland, all happened at the correct time. I am glad to say it all went well, just in the nick of time as the client had a party that evening with 40 guests arriving via the front garden'.
