Arboretum Creation

Civic Trees were invited by McQuitty Landscape Architects to build an Arboretum at a Private Estate. An Arboretum is a place where an extensive variety of woody plants are grown for scientific, educational, and ornamental purposes. The arboretum was designed to have maximum aesthetic impact; through landscaped hillocks, sweeping paths and the planting of semi-mature trees.

Civic Trees co-ordinated the project and made sure it was delivered to schedule with skills in project management and customer - subcontractor liaison.

The work undertaken included:

· Foot Path Creation
· Hedging Supply & Plant
· Wildflower Seeding
· Supply and Planting of 250 Semi Mature Trees
· Fencing
· Earth Works
· 98% Tree survival rates over 2 years

Planting was delivered to a high quality and on time, including 3150 whips and hedging saplings, all supplied internally. Three, 9 metre Semi Mature Cedars were planted, which have made a stunning impact on the horizon of the 11 acre site.

Civic Trees secured a two-year maintenance contract and have been nurturing the trees and landscape to ensure it becomes established. The estate has gone on to invite us back to plant a further 170 semi mature trees.

The project is unique and the family on the estate will enjoy the final result for many years, such projects form an important part of our natural heritage
